The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a New York State Medicaid program that allows consumers to recruit, hire, and direct their own home care workers. One of the best part of the program is that it allows Members to hire family members and friends, and loved ones to take care of them and get paid.
You as the Member (consumer) can hire almost anyone, including any family members and friend; except your spouse. HSM will take care of the entire hiring and vetting process of the caregiver that you choose.
If you are taking care of your family members or friend, we will help you find out if they are eligible for the CDPAP program and help get you paid for the services that you provide to them.
